Job summary

First Baptist Church Americus Preschool is seeking a Christ-centered Preschool Lead Teacher to provide classroom leadership, age-appropriate instruction, and attentive care in a safe and engaging environment. This full-time, exempt role follows the preschool’s schedule with additional time for preparation, meetings, and family communication.

Reports to the Preschool Director and works with church leadership to align with ministry priorities.

Qualifications

• Associate’s degree in education or related field required; bachelor’s degree preferred.
• Current CPR and First Aid certification required.
• Successful completion of all background and reference checks.
• Knowledge of child development and preschool health/safety expectations.
• Ability to build positive relationships with children, families, staff, and church leadership.

Responsibilities

• Lead classroom instruction and care; plan engaging lessons; maintain safe, orderly classroom.
• Coordinate classroom support with the Preschool Director and staff.
• Integrate biblical truths and faith-based learning into daily instruction.
• Communicate promptly with parents about routines and student progress.
• Ensure compliance with health, safety, licensing and preschool requirements.
• Assist with preschool activities and events; participate in staff meetings.
