Job summary

First Presbyterian Day School in Jackson, MS, seeks an After-School Care Worker (Part-Time) to join our dedicated staff after regular classes end each day. Working under the After-School Care Director, you will provide safe, nurturing care for students from Preschool 3 through Grade 6, while fostering a Biblically grounded, Christ-centered atmosphere.

Responsibilities include supervising activities, leading games, assisting with homework, and supporting teachers as needed.

Qualifications

• Experience working with children, preferably in a school or after-school setting.
• Strong communication and organizational skills.
• Ability to interact positively and constructively with children, parents, and staff.
• Christian faith and alignment with FPDS beliefs.

Responsibilities

• Reflect the overarching purpose of FPDS, honoring Christ in every activity.
• Supervise students in Preschool 3 through Grade 6 during after-school activities.
• Organize and lead activities such as games and outdoor play; assist with homework.
• Maintain spaces and safety; follow established policies and report incidents to the Director.
