Job summary

Winthrop University invites applications for a Fall and Spring graduate assistant position in the Music - Choral program. The GA will assist the Director of Choral Activities with three choral ensembles, participate in rehearsals, and help maintain the Choral Library.

The role includes supporting All-State weekend activities and coordinating Chorale tours as needed. Responsibilities include directing rehearsals in the Director's absence and performing other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• Possess an undergraduate degree in music.
• Experience in conducting choral ensembles preferred.
• Computer skills including Office (Excel, etc.)

Responsibilities

• Assist the Director of Choral Activities in administering the choral program (3 choirs).
• Attend and assist with rehearsals of Chorale, Chamber Singers, and Collegiate Choir as requested.
• Maintain Choral Library.
• Attend and assist during All-State Choral Weekend (Spring).
• Help plan and coordinate Chorale Tour and other tours/run-outs.
• Direct choral rehearsals and sectional rehearsals in the absence of the Director.
• Other duties as assigned.

• Attend and assist with rehearsals of Chorale, Chamber Singers, and Collegiate Choir as requested
• Maintain Choral Library
• Attend and assist the Director of Choral Activities during All-State Choral Weekend (Spring)
• Help plan and coordinate Chorale Tour and other tours and run-outs as required
• Attend and assist in conducting class as requestedDirect choral rehearsals and sectional rehearsals in the absence of the Director as needed
• Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

Possess an undergraduate degree in music.

Preferred Skills

Experience in conducting choral ensembles
Computer skills (knowledge of Office, Excel, etc.).
