Job summary

Andrews University is seeking a full-time, tenure-track Music faculty member to lead choral studies, conduct the University Singers and Chorale, and teach conducting, choral literature, voice, theory, and history at undergraduate and graduate levels.

The role includes planning and directing concerts, rehearsals, touring, and community outreach while supervising student workers and a graduate assistant. A doctoral degree in conducting is preferred, and SDA standing is required.

Responsibilities

• Plan and conduct University Singers and University Chorale concerts.
• Prepare and run rehearsals with the choirs.
• Coordinate promotion of concerts, programs, and pre-concert talks.
• Direct music material for rehearsals and concerts, including rentals and staff.
• Collaborate with instrumentalists, studios, and ensembles.
• Teach conducting, choral literature, voice, theory, and history.
• Engage in community outreach and coordinate touring activities.
• Supervise student workers and the graduate assistant.
