Job summary

Mountain Mission School seeks a Choir Director to lead the high school choir and assist with K-7 music, while serving as a residential hall parent. The role blends music education with daily care and mentorship in a Christ-centered setting.

The ideal candidate holds a bachelor’s degree, can read music and conduct, and has experience with students. Teaching, certification, or licensure in music education are preferred. US work authorization required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required, preferably in music, education, ministry, or a related field.
• Ability to read music and conduct a choir or vocal ensemble.
• Experience working with students.
• ACSI certification, state teaching license, or related music-education background preferred.

Responsibilities

• Teach high school choir during the school day.
• Support K-7 music electives as assigned.
• Lead students in developing musical skill, confidence, and discipline.
• Read music, conduct ensembles, and provide instruction suitable to student ability.
• Create a classroom and rehearsal environment reflecting Christian character and excellence.
• Integrate a biblical worldview into music instruction and student formation.
• Collaborate with staff to ensure strong classroom management and student support.
• Maintain classroom records and align with MMS expectations.
• Plan choir trips and coordinate itineraries for ministry settings.
• Travel with students for choir opportunities as needed.
• Serve as a residential hall parent, fostering a home-like atmosphere rooted in Christian values.
• Support students' spiritual and emotional needs through prayer and daily care.
• Assist with healthcare, hygiene, and daily routines as appropriate.
