Job summary

Russell Stover Chocolates, LLC in Abilene, KS, is seeking a dedicated Forklift Operator to move materials and finished goods throughout the facility, load/unload trailers, and ensure accurate inventory through handheld scanners. You will contribute to safe, efficient production within a GMP environment.

You must be at least 18, able to pass forklift certification within the first week, and capable of basic math.

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years of age or older.
• Must be able to operate and maintain a forklift.
• Must be able to pass forklift certification training within the first week.
• Ottawa certification may be required.
• Strong numerical skills with the ability to perform basic math calculations accurately.
• Ability to work overtime.

Responsibilities

• Operate machinery in a safe and proficient manner according to standards, guidelines, and instructions.
• Unloading and loading trailers.
• Using handheld scanners to receive orders and put away products into storage locations.
• Verifying and maintaining inventory.
• Performing routine inventory counts to ensure accuracy and maintain proper stock levels.
• Issuing products to the production lines.
• Consolidating product as needed.
• Keeping the area clean and organized to be audit ready.
• Adhere to Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) to ensure product quality and maintain compliance with food safety standards.
• Complete and follow FSQA training and programs to comply with regulatory requirements, ensure consumer safety, and support the plant’s food safety and quality objectives.
• Promptly report and take appropriate action on any observed or potential food safety hazards, process deviations, or non-conformities by notifying the designated plant supervisor, in accordance with your role and responsibilities.
• Actively contributes to the continuous improvement of the company’s Food Safety Culture through engagement and actions aligned with your role.
