Job summary

OxyChem Ingleside Plant in Gregory, Texas is seeking a Technical Manager to lead our technical team and ensure safe, reliable operation of plant processes. The role focuses on process engineering, project leadership, and driving cost-effective improvements across the site.

You will mentor engineers, manage budgets, and develop systems to maintain compliance with PSM standards while delivering high productivity and environmental responsibility.

Qualifications

• B.S. degree in Chemical Engineering.
• 10+ years of experience in process engineering and process supervision.
• Technical and presentation skills.
• Well-developed verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to interact and communicate on many levels of the organization is desirable.
• Physical requirements – lift 40 lbs, climb ladders and stairs; PPE including respirator; respond to alarms.

Responsibilities

• Maintain environment protection and health and safety as highest priority.
• Provide attention to detail to ensure reliability and high product quality.
• Develop management systems to assure compliance to PSM standards (MOC’s, PHR’s, PSSR’s, Procedures, Audits).
• Ensure plant operations are safe and environmentally responsible while achieving productivity and cost targets.
• Mentor/coach Technical Team members and develop high-potential staff.
• Develop process-control talent to improve safety, environmental performance, and reduce costs.
• Lead cost-saving projects (fixed, variable, marginal income) and communicate status.
• Manage technical resources to achieve plant priorities on time and cost-effectively.
• Set vision and expectations for team members to drive organizational success.
