Job summary

Excelsia Injury Care is seeking a dedicated assistant to support the D.C. in providing outpatient care. Responsibilities include taking vital signs, documenting progress notes, and ensuring clean treatment spaces across locations.

The role requires a high school diploma, CPR/First Aid certification, and about one year of related office experience. Preferred candidates are bilingual in Spanish and English. Occasional travel to other sites may be required to maintain quality patient care.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • State Certification or enrollment to become State Certified within one year.
  • CPR and/or First Aid certification maintained throughout employment.
  • 1 year of office experience supporting physical therapy or chiropractic care.
  • Strong communication and organizational skills.
  • Bilingual in Spanish and English preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Assist patients pre and post care by the D.C.
  • Take vital signs of patients.
  • Perform physical therapy modalities as directed by the D.C.
  • Document modalities performed and patient progress notes.
  • Maintain cleanliness of exam and treatment rooms.
  • Monitor physical therapy equipment controls.
  • Launder towels, gowns, and related items.
  • Maintain inventory and order supplies.
  • Assist in general office operations including registration and answering phones.
  • Travel to other locations to maintain coverage for quality patient care.
  • Keep the office neat, clean, and orderly.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Job Duties

  • Assist patients pre and post care by the D.C.
  • Take vital signs of patients.
  • Perform physical therapy modalities as directed by the D.C.
  • Accurately and legibly document modalities performed and subjective patient comments on progress notes.
  • Maintain cleanliness of exam and treatment rooms at all times.
  • Monitor controls on physical therapy equipment.
  • Launder towels, gowns, heat pack covers, etc. as required.
  • Maintain inventory and order supplies.
  • Assist in general office operations as needed including filing, prepping charts, answering phones, patient registration, posting charges, scanning, cleaning, etc.
  • Travels to other locations as directed to maintain adequate coverage for quality patient care.
  • Assist in maintaining office in neat, clean and orderly fashion.
  • Perform other duties and assignments as directed and/or as necessary.

*Preferred candidates for this role are bilingual in Spanish and English*

  • High school diploma or GED equivalent.
  • State Certification or enrollment in an approved course of study to include 20 observation hours and 520 clinical hours of in‑office training to become State Certified within one year of employment.
  • Certification in CPR and/or First Aid. Must be maintained throughout employment.
  • 1-year experience in office providing physical therapy and/or chiropractic care.
  • Tact and skill in patient management.
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills.
  • Ability to effectively interact with doctors, patients, and co‑workers.

Physical/Mental Requirements

Sitting, standing, walking, reaching above shoulder length, working with body bent over at waist, working in kneeling position, crawling, climbing stairs, climbing ladders, working with arms extended at shoulder length, lifting maximum of 20 lbs.
