Job summary

Applied Optoelectronics, Inc. in Sugar Land, Texas is seeking a Chip Testing Shift Engineer to provide real-time technical support during the 7am–7pm shift, 3–4 days a week.

You will troubleshoot work orders, monitor test data, calibrate equipment, and ensure production quality with timely handovers. The role requires a Bachelor's degree in a related engineering field, familiarity with LabView, and strong data analysis and communication skills for cross-functional teams in a manufacturing

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Material Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Physics or related discipline.
• Experience with chip manufacturing or equipment automation is a plus.
• Familiarity with LabView programming and test equipment operation.

Responsibilities

• Monitor the flow of work orders and respond promptly to production interruptions during the assigned shift.
• Troubleshoot issues in work orders / equipment to maintain smooth production flow.
• Ensure golden sample verification is completed and passed before production; investigate and resolve failures prior to release.
• Monitor real-time test data and equipment performance to ensure accuracy and stability.
• Document shift activities and report production, equipment, and quality issues to management.
