Qualifications

• Prior pavement preservation experience required.

Responsibilities

• Operate and control the chip box during chip seal operations.
• Ensure uniform distribution of aggregate across the treated surface.
• Monitor chip spread rates and adjust gates, speed, and flow as directed.
• Coordinate closely with distributor truck operator and crew to maintain alignment and coverage.
• Maintain safe distance and spacing from distributor truck at all times.
• Communicate effectively with crew regarding adjustments, stops, or issues.
• Perform daily inspections of chip box equipment and report mechanical issues.
• Assist with loading aggregate into the chip box.
• Follow all jobsite safety protocols and traffic control procedures.
• Assist with general crew duties when not operating equipment.
• Maintain cleanliness of chip box and related equipment.

The ideal candidate will be a safe, hardworking, team-oriented person who is ok with working outdoors on road construction crews.

General Duties
