Job summary

Kroger Manhattan KS is seeking a customer-focused team member to prepare and display foods, wait on customers, and uphold our core values of respect, honesty, integrity, diversity and safety. You will help keep displays fresh, signage accurate, shelves organized, and assist customers with quick, friendly service in a fast-paced retail kitchen environment.

The role requires weekend/holiday availability, strong communication, and the ability to follow recipes and safety policies.

Qualifications

  • Weekend and holiday availability.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills.
  • Able to read shelf tags, signs, product labels, training materials, and bulletins.
  • Must work with various cleaning solutions, safely use sharp tools, and carefully operate slicing equipment.
  • Demonstrated aptitude to manage people and organize workloads.
  • Ability to make intelligent decisions quickly.
  • Ability to multi-task, set priorities, present information professionally, and work with all levels of the organization.
  • Personal initiative and follow through to completion.
  • Strong communication skills and diplomacy when dealing with people.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and help all department members.
  • Experience in Chinese Kitchen, Food Service, or Restaurant work.
  • Past work record reflects dependability and integrity.
  • Understanding of department operations (merchandising, inventory, shrink, scheduling, etc.).
  • Knowledge of employment safety regulations.

  • Keep sales areas, backrooms, and coolers clean and well organized.
  • Keep carts, tools, and supplies in their designated areas.

  • Wait on customers promptly and cheerfully.
  • Greet customers and provide high-quality foods.
  • Operate cash register per company procedures.
  • Increase store sales and profits.
  • Wash and sanitize cookware and utensils.
  • Adhere to all company policies and procedures.
  • Must be able to perform essential functions with or without accommodation.

  • Wait on customers and counter promptly and cheerfully.

  • Understanding of all key components of department operations. For example: managing people, merchandising, inventory management, shrink control, customer services, labor scheduling, and expense control.
  • Knowledge of applicable laws and regulations related to employment practices, safety, and food handling.
