Job summary

SOSi is seeking Chinese interpreters for engagements in East Asia on a part-time basis, with work in Northern Virginia and overseas. Each engagement lasts from a week to two and a half weeks.

You will join a customer team providing oral interpretation in meetings and office settings, focusing on consecutive interpretation while preserving nuance. The ideal candidate will have native or near-native Chinese, ILR level 4–5, excellent English skills, and a Secret clearance.

Qualifications

• Active in-scope Secret clearance and U.S. citizenship.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in oral interpretation.
• Native or near-native Chinese with ILR level 4–5.
• Familiarity with Chinese culture, media, and nuance.
• Excellent English written and verbal communication.

Responsibilities

• Read, write, and speak Chinese at fluent/native level.
• Provide interpretation in office settings and formal meetings, mainly consecutive.
• Engage with client personnel to support mission objectives.
• Assist with travel logistics and note-taking for engagements.
