Job summary

Daikin Applied Americas Inc. in New York City area is seeking a full‑time HVAC Journeyman - Chiller Mechanic to service commercial and industrial equipment. Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED.
• Associates Degree or HVAC certification preferred.
• 5+ years of related experience with increasing responsibility.
• Journeyman recognized by the union.
• Valid Driver’s License and clean driving record.
• Licenses/training required by local law district.
• Rotational Emergency Call Support availability.
• Experience mentoring less experienced technicians.
• EPA Universal Technician Certification preferred.
• OSHA 10 certification preferred.
• First aid/CPR certification preferred.
• No visa sponsorship available.

Responsibilities

• Inspect and test systems to verify functionality across chillers, water source heat pumps, rooftops, and AHUs.
• Repair and replace defective equipment or wiring.
• Maintain equipment and identify issues to prevent breakdowns or callbacks.
• Diagnostics, pipefitting, and brazing of commercial HVAC equipment.
• Conduct warranty service inspections and testing.
• Educate customers on equipment use and maintenance schedules.
• Lead apprentices through hands‑on demonstrations for rebuilds and retrofits.
• Report billing, inventory, timecards, and other records timely.
• Download programs into HVAC equipment and analyze chiller trend data.
• Participate in regional training and off‑site learning modules.
• Maintain certifications and uphold safety standards and clean work area.
• Complete jobsite hazard assessments and follow safety policies.
