Job summary

Ambient Enterprises is seeking an on-site Service Technician in Reno, NV to perform a range of HVAC service tasks for commercial customers. The role requires decisive, reliable individuals who communicate well with customers and fellow technicians.

You will diagnose and repair HVAC systems, follow safety standards, complete daily activity reports, and assist in training other employees. A post-secondary HVAC program and strong reading/comprehension skills are preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent, plus two-year HVAC program recommended.
• Strong diagnostic and troubleshooting abilities.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose and repair HVAC systems for commercial customers.

Job Description

The Service Technician reports to the Service Supervisor and is responsible for performing a range of HVAC jobs and or projects for commercial customers. Customer-based activities involved in this position require an individual who is decisive, tactful, dependable, and who possesses initiative and the ability to communicate well with all customer groups.

Responsibilities

• A Service Technician must be able to accurately diagnose and efficiently accomplish a job to the mutual benefit of the customer and American Chiller Service.
• To clearly communicate both verbally and written with service customers, other ACS technicians, the Service Supervisors, the Service Manager, Dispatcher and the Parts Runners.
• Performing routine HVAC service activities without direct oversight or on-site assistance.
• Reporting job activities on daily basis to job sponsors.
• Reporting may be in both written and/or verbal form.
• Assisting the Training Coordinator in the training of other ACS employees on service-related subjects, including call-back prevention and equipment protocols.
• Be familiar with and comply with all company safety standards, applicable federal, state, and local laws.
• Attend company safety meetings and trainings as requested.
• Perform duties in a safe manner observing safe procedures while constantly alert to any unsafe working conditions.
• Developing lead referrals for the sales staff.
• Performing related duties as directed by the Service Supervisor.

Job Qualifications

• High school graduate and graduate of a post-secondary HVAC program of instruction of two or more years in duration.
• One or more years of successful experience, either as a commercial service or installation technician.
• Good verbal and reading skills, including the ability to read and apply manufacturers' instructions and to clearly communicate with commercial customers, suppliers, and other ACS employees.
• Physical ability to perform all duties noted above under the conditions, circumstances, and extreme weather conditions found in CA. To include driving to and from customer locations (up to 2 hours one way), use of ladder on daily basis, lifting of items up to 50 pounds, bending, and rigging of heavy equipment.
• Interest and initiative in maintaining and advancing his or her HVAC skills through a combination of self-study, company training, manufacturers' workshops, and other professional development activities.
• Current CA drivers license.
• Employee must be insurable by current ACS insurance carrier.
• Ability to work under pressures of time, a non-standard schedule, weather, customer needs, and backlog constraints.
