Job summary

Mesa Energy Systems, Inc. is hiring an HVAC technician with journeyman experience for our San Diego service team. You will maintain and repair central plant equipment, chillers, cooling towers, and other HVAC assets, including on-call emergency coverage.

You will perform testing, start‑ups, commissioning, and preventive maintenance while collaborating with field supervision and coordinating with vendors and customers to ensure safe, reliable operation.

Qualifications

• 5 years journeyman experience and technical schooling.
• Commercial/industrial air conditioning experience required.
• Knowledge of chillers, HVAC and central plants.
• EPA certified and valid driver’s license.
• On-call availability required.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and repair central plant equipment including chillers 100 tons and larger.
• Overhaul centrifugal chillers.
• Perform end-to-end testing, start-ups, and commissioning.
• Schedule site-wide maintenance and repairs for chillers, cooling towers, and central plant equipment.
• Attend monthly safety meetings and ensure policy compliance.
• Provide technical support and on-site troubleshooting.
• Work with Chiller Field Supervisor on opportunities or issues.
