Job summary

YMCA of Central Texas in Waco is seeking a friendly, energetic ChildWatch Assistant to provide a fun and safe environment for children from 6 weeks to 12 years old. Shift is Monday–Friday, 8:00am–1:30pm, offering steady part-time hours.

You will nurture kids through organized activities, supervise play areas, and maintain safety while building positive relationships with families. CPR/First Aid certification required within 30 days of hire.

Qualifications

• Must be CPR and First Aid certified within 30 days of employment.
• Must pass reference check, pre-employment drug screen, sex-offender check, and criminal history check.
• Applicant must be at least 16 years of age.

Responsibilities

• Nurture children ages 6 weeks to 12 years with purposeful activities to build relationships.
• Supervise children in the Child Watch area and related spaces.
• Maintain a safe environment by following procedures and standards.
• Observe children and facilitate transitions between activities.
• Foster positive relationships and communicate effectively with parents.
• Keep the program site and equipment orderly and well maintained.
• Maintain required program records and participate in activities.

Job description

The Greater Waco YMCA is seeking an energetic, responsible, team- oriented individual to provide a fun and safe atmosphere in our ChildWatch area for children ages 6 weeks to 12 years old.

Available Shifts: Monday-Friday 8:00am-1:30pm

We are offering a $260 bonus for new employees!

Essential Responsibilities:

• Nurtures children through purposeful activities dedicated to building relationships with each child.
• Supervise children in the Child Watch classroom, game room and all activities appropriately.
• Follows all procedures and standards for maintaining a safe environment.
• Makes ongoing observations of the children and has the ability to maneuver from one location to another quickly and easily
• Cultivates positive relationships and maintains effective communication with parents
• Maintains program site and equipment in an orderly manner
• Maintains required program records
• Ability to plan, lead and participate in activities

Qualifications:

• Applicant must be at least 16 years of age.
• Must be certified in CPR and First Aid within first 30 days of employment
• Individual must be able to pass reference check, pre-employment drug screen, sex-offender check, and criminal history check

Pay Rate: $13.00- $14.00/hour
