Job summary

Usswimschools in Connecticut is seeking a part-time swim instructor to teach students using our curriculum and ensure safety on every shift.

You will build water confidence while encouraging each student to reach their best. The role requires regular communication with students and staff, a positive attitude, and a willingness to learn and be coached.

Qualifications

• Caring and compassionate for children and adults.
• Able to work in water for periods up to 3 hours.
• Strong communication skills.
• Willing to be coached and a quick learner.
• Able to stay focused in a fast-paced environment.

As a swim instructor you are responsible for the safety of each student and for teaching swim skills to students using our curriculum. You will work to build water confidence within your students, encouraging each student to rise to the best of their abilities. You can expect to be regularly communicating with students and fellow staff members. You should be someone who welcomes feedback and is a continuous learner. As a swim instructor you will report to the Deck Supervisor or Site Supervisor during shifts and provide support throughout the pool deck as needed.

We have a fun and rewarding work environment with a great atmosphere for someone who loves teaching and being around water. We provide training. Starting wage is based on prior experience training evaluation. This is a part-time position that offers morning, afternoon/evening and weekend shifts.
