Job summary

AccessCNY, Inc. is seeking a Children's Respite Specialist to provide high-level behavioral support to children transitioning from inpatient care. This on-site role offers daytime and overnight shifts with a $2,000 sign-on bonus for full-time staff and $1,000 for part-time staff.

You will implement care plans, promote emotional regulation, and assist with daily living activities while ensuring safety in home and community settings.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Experience with children with I/DD or mental health diagnosis preferred.
• RBT certification or willingness to obtain preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide support during moments of self-injury or disruptive behavior following care plans.
• Foster a safe, therapeutic environment promoting emotional regulation and belonging.
• Follow Staff Action or Service Plans to implement goals and strategies.
• Assist children with daily living activities to support comfort and dignity.
• Teach skills for independence, including behavior management and social interaction.
• Accompany and transport children to community activities aligned with development.
• Ensure ongoing safety and well-being in home, community, and transport.
• May work in other agency programs when occupancy is low.
