At our Lincoln Park location, we are seeking an enthusiastic and experienced Aquatics Program Manager to oversee our swim team and lesson programs. This role offers an exciting opportunity to lead a thriving aquatics department and make a lasting impact on the fitness journeys of individuals and families in our community.

Key Responsibilities:
As the Aquatics Program Manager, you will work closely with the Children’s Programming Director to ensure the success and growth of our swim team and lessons. Your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

  • Leadership and Supervision: Oversee daily operations of swim lessons and the swim team, ensuring smooth execution and high-quality experiences for all members.
  • Swim Lessons & Classes: Print class rosters, greet swimmers and families, take attendance, and manage makeup attendees. Provide guidance and assist swimmers in and out of the water as needed.
  • Lifeguard & Safety Monitoring: Serve as a lifeguard and monitor safety during swim lessons to maintain a secure environment for all participants.
  • Free Swim Management: Ensure members have a safe and enjoyable experience during free swim, while effectively managing space and communicating lesson schedules to families.
  • Equipment Management: Assist with setting up and taking down lane ropes for swim lessons and swim team practices.
  • Instructor Collaboration & Feedback: Work closely with swim instructors to provide valuable feedback to swimmers and families in the instructor’s absence. Support swim assessments to track progress.
  • Teaching Commitment: Be prepared to step in for any instructor as needed and teach classes to build revenue.
  • Communication & Reporting: Compile daily recaps of swim lesson activities and share with the Aquatics Director, ensuring all operational details are communicated clearly.
  • Customer Service Excellence: Maintain a welcoming and supportive environment, providing exceptional service to members and fostering positive relationships with families.

Desired Experience & Qualifications:
We’re looking for a candidate with a passion for aquatics and a proven track record in swim instruction or coaching. Ideal candidates will bring:

  • 3+ years of experience in swim lesson instruction or swim coaching
  • Lifeguard, Head Lifeguard, or Lifeguard Supervisor experience
  • Proven swim lesson supervisor or swim team coaching experience
  • Previous experience as a Swim Club Assistant Coach or Head Coach is a plus
  • Background in the fitness industry, front desk operations, or customer service roles is highly valued
