Qualifications

• Must profess and live a faith consistent with the Chapel's mission.
• Experience caring for young children (birth to 5th grade).
• Ability to adapt and interact with diverse child personalities.
• Excellent verbal communication skills.
• Must be at least 16 years old per Virginia regulations.
• First Aid/CPR training provided if not already certified.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrate a polite, friendly, encouraging, and courteous attitude to all children, parents, volunteers, and staff.
• Be on time and present during the program.
• Abide by all safety and other policies established by the Chapel.
• Prepare classroom prior to the children's arrival, ensuring safety and readiness of materials.
• Lead and oversee volunteers in the classroom.
• Greet each child when dropped off and label belongings with names.
• Engage children in organized activities such as songs, stories, lessons, crafts.
• Follow all Chapel policies regarding diaper changing and bathroom use.
• Straighten the classroom after departure; disinfect toys as needed.
• Communicate needs for supplies, snacks, etc. to leadership.
• Report safety issues and concerns to leadership.
• Attend one training session per semester.
• Uphold the Chapel's documents and employee covenant.
• Live a life consistent with the Chapel’s expectations.
• Serve in other duties as assigned.
