St. Matthew’s United Methodist Church in Annandale is seeking a part-time Children’s Ministry Coordinator. Working with the Director of Family Ministries, you’ll help children from preschool through 5th grade discover that they are known, loved, and belong.

This role is 10–15 hours per week (5 hours during the week and 5 hours on Sundays, 8am–1pm), with 4–6 special events yearly. Pay ranges from $20 to $25 per hour based on experience. A background check is required.

Working alongside our Director of Family Ministries, you’ll help children from preschool through 5th grade discover that they are known, loved, and belong. This is a part‑time position of 10–15 hours per week (5 hours during the week and 5 hours on Sundays, 8am–1pm, plus 4–6 special events a year). Pay: $20–$25/hour based on experience. Must pass a background check.

Responsibilities include leading engaging Children’s Time sessions at the altar during worship services and enriching Sunday School sessions for children grade 5 and below; teaching biblically grounded, age‑appropriate curriculum through crafts, games, and real conversation; recruiting, training, and encouraging caring volunteers; upholding our Child Protection Policy and confirming volunteer background checks; keeping parents, teachers, and volunteers connected; bringing ideas that grow our vision for children’s faith formation and worship; and helping coordinate and run signature events including the Fall Festival, Cookies, crafts and photos with Santa and St. Nicholas, and the Easter Extravaganza.
