Job summary

First Baptist Church in Tulsa, OK is seeking a Children’s Minister to lead ministry for grades 1–5 and their families. The role focuses on implementing a clear vision for children’s programs and coordinating the Children Family Ministry Team to align with the Pastor’s overall vision.

The position involves developing Sunday morning and weekday programming, training volunteers, budgeting for the children’s ministry, and participating in church-wide events to support family discipleship.

• Recruit, train, and equip volunteers to lead children in an age-appropriate manner.
• Develop and implement strategy for whole-family discipleship; working with families to equip parents and families to disciple their children.
• Develop the structure, training, and resources for Sunday morning children’s ministry and any week-day components, including: Wednesday night programming; Sunday/Wednesday kids’ community groups; family and outreach events; camps; curriculum selection and development.
• Develop and administer an annual budget based on the needs of the children’s ministry.
• Participate and provide support and leadership (when needed) in church-wide events, even if they do not directly affect the children’s ministry.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor.

The Children’s Minister is responsible to lead the church in a clearly defined vision and strategy of ministry to children (Grade 1–Grade 5) and their families. Ensures the activities and objectives of the Children Family Ministry Team (Birth–Grade 5) works in conjunction with the vision of the Pastor.
