A leading company is seeking an experienced Registered Manager for a new 4-bed children’s home in Haverhill. The role necessitates management of daily operations, ensuring high-quality care for children aged 11-17. We seek a passionate candidate with strong leadership and communication skills, alongside relevant NVQ qualifications.
Salary: Base salary £53,000 with the potential to earn up to £60,800 through bonuses.
Area Camden is a Good Ofsted regulated business, and we are now looking for an experienced, enthusiastic, dedicated, professional Registered Manager for our brand new 4-bed children’s home in Haverhill, Suffolk. We seek someone with a minimum of 2-3 years’ management experience and experience working with young people aged 11-17 who exhibit challenging behaviour.

Main Purpose of Role:
Registered Managers are accountable for delivering high-quality care to the children and young people in the home. This includes overseeing all care services, strategic planning for development, and managing daily operations. They should demonstrate the principles and standards expected at Area Camden and contribute to continuous improvement in childcare standards.
They are responsible for ensuring childcare practices focus on achieving the best outcomes for each child and young person. This involves providing practical leadership, organizing and supporting staff, supervising and mentoring, organizing work patterns, facilitating care-focused training, and accessing appropriate services to support childcare practices within the home.
The ideal candidate will have an NVQ Level 5 in Management and at least an NVQ Level 3 in Caring for Children and Young People. Experience managing staff, excellent communication skills, and leadership qualities are essential. Knowledge of the Children’s Act 1989, Care Standards Act 2000, and relevant regulations and safeguarding procedures is required.
The home manager is employed for 40 hours per week but is expected to organize their work rota, which may include evenings, weekends, and night shifts. They are responsible for ensuring adequate staff coverage to meet the childcare needs of residents.
