Job summary

Southside Children’s Ministry is seeking a Children’s Director to provide vision, leadership, and oversight of all children’s programs, including Sunday School and VBS. The role recruits and trains volunteers, creating a safe environment where K–5 children grow in faith and discipleship.

The Director will build strong relationships with families, manage programs and budgets, ensure age-appropriate curricula, and collaborate with church staff to align ministry with the church’s mission.

Qualifications

• Strong personal faith and commitment to Jesus Christ.
• Experience leading children’s ministry or related programs.
• Ability to recruit, train, and equip volunteers.
• Strong communication, relational, and organizational skills.
• Knowledge of age-appropriate biblical curriculum for K–5 children.

Responsibilities

• Lead and coordinate children’s ministries and events (Sunday School, Word Up Wednesday, VBS, Christmas, and end-of-school outings).
• Recruit, train, and support volunteers.
• Select and implement age-appropriate, biblically grounded curriculum.

• Maintain a safe, secure environment; develop and enforce ministry policies.

This role recruits, trains, and supports volunteers while creating a safe, loving environment where children can grow spiritually.
