Placements24 is seeking a compassionate and proactive Childminder and Educational Assistant to provide part-time support for a child in East London, Eastern Cape. The role blends in-home care with some remotely managed educational tasks, fostering a nurturing and stimulating learning environment.

You will support daily routines, engage the child in age-appropriate activities, monitor development, and communicate with parents regularly.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in childcare or as a childminder.
• Knowledge of child development and early learning principles.
• First Aid and CPR certification preferred.
• Good communication and organizational skills.
• A patient, caring, and reliable disposition.
• Ability to manage tasks both in-person and potentially remotely.
• Comfortable using digital communication tools for remote collaboration.
• Background check and references required.
• Familiarity with the childcare landscape in East London is advantageous.
• Must have the legal right to work in South Africa.

Responsibilities

• Provide attentive and safe childcare during scheduled hours.
• Engage the child in age-appropriate educational games, activities, and reading.
• Assist with daily routines, including meals, naps, and personal hygiene.
• Plan and prepare healthy snacks and light meals.
• Ensure the child's living and play areas are clean and organized.
• Monitor and support the child's developmental milestones.

• Participate in remote planning sessions for educational activities and curriculum.
• Assist with any tasks that can be managed remotely, as agreed with the family.
