Job summary

Stratton Childcare Center is seeking a Teaching Assistant to support infants, toddlers, and young children under the supervision of a Teacher Associate. You will engage children, follow the curriculum, and communicate with families about daily experiences.

Requirements include a high school diploma (or equivalent), a 3-credit college course in psychology/sociology/early education, CPR/First Aid, and at least one year in a childcare setting.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• 3 credit college course in psychology, sociology or early education.
• First Aid & CPR certification.

Responsibilities

• Interact with and encourage children in all activities while ensuring safety at all times.
• Follow the Teacher Associate's curriculum and promote participation among children.
• Maintain a cooperative attitude with staff and assist with basic care needs.
• Be knowledgeable of state child care regulations and follow them closely.
• Assist during meals, with preparation, serving, and cleanup.
• Communicate with families about each child’s needs and progress.
• Attend staff meetings and complete professional development hours.
• Wear required protective equipment and participate in emergency procedures.
