Job summary

Inch By Inch, based in Bedford, MA, is seeking an enthusiastic Teacher’s Assistant to support lead teachers and engage with children aged six weeks to school age. You will help implement activities, monitor routines, and contribute to a nurturing learning environment.

As a valued member of the school family, you will foster relationships with families, support developmental goals, and participate in ongoing training to enhance classroom practices.

Qualifications

Pay scale: $18-$19/hr based on experience and certifications

Responsibilities

• Assist the lead teacher in carrying out the curriculum and daily activities, including long and short-range goals.
• Maintain a consistent daily routine, including classroom structures, mealtimes, physical play, a nap period, and outside play.
• Assist in conflict management between children in the classroom; teach them skills they still need to learn.
• To be respectful and build partnerships with your co-workers, you must have a strong ability to communicate positively and openly.
• Maintain a safe, clean, and healthy environment for children and staff, including cleaning responsibilities throughout the day.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required
• Previous experience as a Teacher’s Assistant is preferred
• Understanding of child development principles and best practices in education and classroom management
• Knowledge of classroom health, safety, and sanitation guidelines and the ability to closely adhere to the guidelines
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Energetic and positive attitude
