Job summary

Little Explorers Early Learning Center seeks a Full-time Lead Teacher in Sequim, WA. You will create a warm, safe space for infants through preschoolers, plan the daily program, and partner with families to support each child’s growth.

Requirements include clear background checks, health and safety trainings, and a passion for guiding young learners. The position offers regular hours Mon–Fri and a collaborative teaching team.

Qualifications

  • Cleared Portable Background Check before hire.
  • Safe Sleep for Infants Training completed or on file.
  • Mandated Reporter Training completed or on file.
  • TB test results within last 12 months.
  • Proof of MMR on file.
  • CPR/First Aid training and HIV/AIDS training completed within 30 days of hire.
  • Must be at least 18 years of age.
  • Have completed a high school education or the equivalent; and have documented child development education or work experience; or complete Childcare Basics training within three months of hire.
  • College classes may be pursued with FULL Scholarships available (compensation upon education completion).
  • The right person will be flexible, creative, and energetic with a passion for children.

About This Role

Full-time Lead Teacher at Sequim's Little Explorers Early Learning Center, where we empower children to grow and thrive in a nurturing environment.

Our team is seeking a dedicated educator who can foster lifelong confidence and a genuine curiosity to explore the world. With a focus on building strong partnerships with parents, we provide unwavering support for their child's growth from infancy to the preschool years.

Position: Full-time Lead Teacher on the job training. Operating Hours: Monday-Friday 7:30am-5:30pm. Location: Sequim, Wa

What You'll Do

In this role, you will be responsible for creating a warm, nurturing, and safe environment that encourages children to grow and explore. Key responsibilities include maintaining professional attitudes and loyalty to the school at all times, interacting with children to encourage their involvement in activities, and planning and implementing the daily program based on an emergent curriculum outline.

Additional Responsibilities Include
  • Maintaining child-to-staff ratios and keeping children within visual and auditory range at all times.
  • Establishing and maintaining good communication with parents on a daily basis and with monthly newsletters.
  • Using positive discipline and treating all children with dignity and respect.
  • Attending staff meetings and recommended training programs and conferences.
  • Assisting the director in explaining the program to visitors and in any other appropriate ways.
  • Preparing a warm and safe environment that is orderly, clean, and appealing.
Requirements

  • Safe Sleep for Infants Training Completed or on file before working with children in the classroom
  • Mandated Reporter Training - Recognizing and Reporting Child Abuse found Completed or on file before working with children in the classroom

  • Proof of MMR on file Completed or on file before working with children in the classroom
  • CPR (Infant, Child & Adult) First Aid training HIV/AIDS training/Bloodborne pathogens completed within 30 days of hire
  • Must be at least 18 years of age.

  • Attend college classes in the future if needed for education requirements. FULL Scholarships are available! (compensation upon education completion)
