Job summary

Odyssey House Inc. in New York, NY seeks a Childcare Worker to provide direct care for children aged 1 month through 12 years when licensed daycare is unavailable.

You will supervise children, model positive interactions, and assist with daily activities, meals, and classroom setup under the Education Director. Responsibilities include supporting the Women/Children component, following licensing requirements, and participating in staff development and safety practices.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED and two years of experience working with children required.
• Associate's degree and one year of experience working with children preferred.
• CPR/First Aid certification recommended; training provided after hire.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct childcare to children 1 month to 12 years old when daycare is unavailable.
• Supervise children and model appropriate adult-child interactions.
• Assist in daily classroom setup, breakdown, and cleaning.
• Assist in serving snacks and meals with teaching staff support.
• Provide day shift coverage during staff absences and as needed.
• Support Women/Children component under Education Director.
