Under direct supervision, the Childcare Program Assistant will provide exceptional childcare that enhances the lives of infants and toddlers while aiding Lead Teachers and the Director of Childcare/Preschool. The position will perform related functions for Mountain Munchkins ensuring the safety, care, and well-being of assigned children while conducting various childcare duties.
High school diploma or GED is required. Previous childcare experience is preferred, but not required.
Principles and practices of childcare; rules, regulations, and standards governing childcare; childcare facility records and documentation; equipment and supplies relative to childcare; children’s games and activities.
Performing a variety of childcare functions; maintaining compliance with regulations and standards governing childcare; providing for the safety and well-being of assigned children; engaging children in structured activities; demonstrating quick reflexes and responses; demonstrating patience; positive attitude; focusing on many children at one time.
Busy, sometimes chaotic environment. Work is performed primarily indoors with some work performed outdoors in varying types of weather. Must be able to work some nights and holidays.
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand; use hands to finger, handle or feel; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl and talk and hear. The employee is frequently required to walk; sit and taste or smell. The employee must be able to lift and/or move up to 60 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus. May be exposed to chemicals in relation to cleaning facility.
