Job summary

School District 622 - North St. Paul-Maplewood-Oakdale is seeking a Childcare Paraeducator for Adventure Connection to support K–5 after-school programming with supervision and engaging activities.

The role is Monday–Friday mornings, 7:00–9:30am, 12.5 hours per week, starting 11/16/26. Compensation is $20.85 per hour, with benefits per the paraeducator labor agreement. Internal consideration ends 11/03/2026.

Qualifications

• Must be 16 years of age or older.
• Certification or ability to become certified in First Aid and CPR.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills; ability to maintain confidentiality.

Responsibilities

• Assist in developing and implementing age-appropriate activities for school-age children (K–5).
• Communicate and maintain good working relationships with school personnel, site manager, staff, parents, students, and the public.
• Set up Adventure Connection space and ensure materials are accessible to participants.
• Supervise and participate in arts, crafts, games, gym/outdoor activities, and field trips.
• Assist in maintaining program records and preparing snacks.
• Complete light clean-up and follow district policies.
• Participate in staff meetings and trainings; open/close facilities as required.
• Other related duties as assigned.

Summary:The Child Care Paraeducator will assist in the implementation of school-age child care programming for children in grades K � 5 by providing supervised activities that address the physical, social, mental, and emotional needs of participants.

Required Qualifications:

• 16years of age or older

Preferred Qualifications:

• Associate's or Bachelor's degree
• Prior experience in school-age care or education

Responsibilities:

• Assist in the development and implementation of appropriate activities and environment for school-age children
• Communicate and maintain good working relationships with school personnel, the Adventure Connection Site Manager, staff, parents, students, and the public
• Set up the Adventure Connection space, including pushing/pulling cabinets with toys and activities, and ensure that these materials are accessible to participants
• Supervise, lead, and participate in arts and crafts, games, gym/outdoor activities, and field trips
• Assist in maintaining program records
• Prepare and serve snacks
• Complete light clean-up including wiping down tables and sweeping/mopping small areas
• Understand and follow all District and Adventure Connection policies and guidelines
• Participate in staff meetings and trainings as required
• Open and close the Adventure Connection facilities as required
• Other related duties as assigned

May be regularly required to walk throughout a building and may occasionally be required to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds with assistance or push up to 90 pounds, and must be able to restrain students with proper training and assistance when needed, and may be required to stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl.
