Job summary

Hemlock Public Schools in Michigan is seeking a Childcare Lead Teacher for the Walker Room, ESS/Willsub Employee role, to provide daily teaching and supervision of toddlers under the guidance of the childcare director.

The successful candidate will meet Michigan licensing requirements, hold Basic First Aid and CPR, and work collaboratively with staff and families to support each child's growth and development.

Qualifications

• Meet licensing/program requirements for a background check, fingerprinting, and other program clearances
• Must meet all Michigan child care licensing requirements to serve as a Lead Teacher
• Must obtain Basic First Aid and CPR Certification
• Experience working with Toddlers
• 1-2 years working with early childhood aged children

Responsibilities

• Daily teaching and supervision of children under daily supervision of the childcare director
• Daily supervision of childcare staff
• Lead classroom staff in a positive manner
• Work collaboratively with colleagues and parents to ensure student success and a positive caring environment
• Possess strong organizational and communication skills

Job Requirements, Knowledge, and Skills:

• Experience working with Toddlers.
• Primary responsibilities under daily supervision of the childcare director include daily teaching and supervision of children, daily supervision of childcare staff
• Michigan's Infant and Toddler Development And Care Practices Course Completion
• Familiar with early childhood standards and benchmarks, preferred
• Knowledge of High Scope Curriculum, preferred
• Strong computer skills
• Willingness to accept and perform additional duties/responsibilities as assigned
• Work collaboratively with colleagues and parents to ensure student success and a positive caring environment

A successful candidate will be able to:

• Assist in assessing Children's growth and development
• Develop and implement developmentally appropriate lesson plans and daily routines
• Lead classroom staff in a positive manner
• Have a positive and caring attitude
• Possess strong organizational and communication skills
