Job summary

Over The Rainbow Child Care Center in Canton, MS is seeking a caring Cook to prepare nutritious, kid-friendly meals daily. You will contribute to the health and happiness of the children by following established CACFP guidelines and ensuring safe food handling, proper portions, and timely meal service.

The role requires experience in food service or childcare cooking, a food handler's certification or willingness to obtain one, and a warm, collaborative approach within a busy classroom

Qualifications

• Experience in food service or childcare food prep preferred.
• Knowledge of food safety and proper handling.
• CACFP guidelines familiarity is a plus.
• Ability to prepare meals for large groups.
• Willingness to obtain a food handler's certification if needed.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and cook nutritious, age-appropriate meals and snacks daily.
• Follow CACFP meal guidelines and portion requirements.
• Maintain a clean, sanitary kitchen environment.
• Monitor food inventory and assist with ordering supplies.
• Adhere to storage and temperature control regulations.
• Accommodate dietary restrictions and allergies.
• Coordinate meal timing with the center's daily schedule.
