The Learning Experience in Prince William County, VA is seeking an enthusiastic Assistant Center Director to support daily operations, mentor teachers, and deliver an exceptional learning environment for children and families.

This hands-on leadership role emphasizes teamwork, family engagement, and adherence to Virginia licensing standards. Bilingual English/Spanish candidates are encouraged to apply, with a competitive salary and full-time weekday schedule.

Qualifications

• Previous professional experience in a licensed childcare or preschool setting is required.
• Lead Teacher, Assistant Director, Center Director, or childcare leadership experience is preferred.
• Must meet Virginia childcare licensing requirements for assigned responsibilities.
• Strong understanding of early childhood education and classroom operations.
• Experience coaching or supervising teaching staff is preferred.
• Excellent communication, organization, and problem-solving skills.
• Comfortable conducting family tours and building relationships with parents.
• Bilingual English/Spanish is strongly preferred.
• Early Childhood Education coursework or degrees are preferred.

Responsibilities

• Support the Center Director with daily operations of a licensed childcare center.
• Assist with teacher scheduling, staffing, and classroom ratios.
• Coach, mentor, and support teachers with classroom management and curriculum implementation.
• Help recruit, onboard, and train new team members.
• Support implementation of LEAP Curriculum.
• Conduct prospective family tours and support enrollment and retention.
• Build strong relationships with families and address questions or concerns.
• Maintain licensing documentation and support compliance with Virginia childcare regulations.
• Assist with classroom observations and staff development.
• Help coordinate school events, family engagement activities, and daily communications.
• Step in to support classrooms and leadership as needed.
• Foster a positive, collaborative, and professional school environment.
