Job summary

YMCA of Greater Grand Rapids is seeking a Childcare Director to oversee six to eight classrooms in our center, including tuition-based and grant-funded programs, ensuring high-quality early learning in a safe, inclusive environment.

You will lead up to 30 teachers, coach the Assistant Director, manage budgets and enrollment, and build partnerships with families and community organizations to support children's development.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education is required.
• Minimum 5 years’ experience in licensed childcare management or equivalent.
• Strong knowledge of state licensing regulations and fiscal principles.
• Leadership, organizational, and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily center operations ensuring a safe, nurturing, educational environment.
• Maintain quality standards and compliance with licensing requirements.
• Coach and develop staff; manage schedules and staffing.
• Build partnerships with families and community organizations.
• Monitor budgets, prepare reports, and ensure grant compliance.
