Job summary

YMCA of Greater Grand Rapids is seeking a Childcare Director to oversee the daily operation of multiple centers, ensuring high-quality early learning in a safe, inclusive environment. You will lead up to 30 teachers, coach the Assistant Director, and manage budgets, enrollment, and regulatory compliance.

You will build strong partnerships with families and community organizations, support staff development, and ensure program quality.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education or Child Development.
• 2 semester hours in child care administration required.
• Minimum 5 years' experience with licensed child care management or equivalent.
• Strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills.
• Working knowledge of computers and various software applications.

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily operations of the child development center ensuring a safe, nurturing, educational environment.
• Lead a team of up to 30 teachers; coach and develop the Assistant Director; manage staffing and scheduling.
• Build partnerships with families and community organizations to support children’s development.
• Ensure licensing compliance and monitor health and safety requirements.
