Job summary

Child Development Schools North Carolina LLC is seeking a Bus Driver to provide safe transportation for students and support classrooms alongside Lead Teachers. You will foster a warm environment and engage children through hands-on activities, storytelling, and everyday learning moments.

The role emphasizes safety, relationship-building with families, and collaboration within a teaching team to nurture curiosity, confidence, kindness, and growth in young learners.

Qualifications

• At least 21 years old and able to pass a background check.
• High school diploma or GED required; coursework in Early Childhood Education is a plus.
• Demonstrates genuine care for children and safety of students.

Responsibilities

• Provide safe, reliable transportation for before/after school programs.
• Engage with children during activities, meals, and outdoor time.
• Observe children and share developmental notes with the Lead Teacher.

Your role

As a Bus Driver at Child Development Schools, you will support our center by providing safe, reliable transportation for our students to and from school and/or activities. You may also be supporting classrooms, working alongside your Lead Teacher, you will support young learners through meaningful experiences that encourage curiosity, confidence, kindness, and growth. From hands-on activities and storytelling to everyday learning moments, you will help shape a warm and welcoming environment where children feel safe, supported, and excited to explore the world around them.

You will serve as a trusted partner to families, a positive role model for children, and an important part of our collaborative teaching team dedicated to making early childhood education engaging, nurturing, safe, and fun.

What your day looks like:

• Help maintain a safe, clean, and organized classroom that meets licensing and ratio requirements
• Provide on time, safe and reliable transportation for our Before and After School programs
• Engage directly with children during activities, meals, transitions, and outdoor time
• Observe children and share developmental notes with the Lead Teacher
• Build relationships with families through warm, consistent daily communication
• Assist with classroom documentation including attendance and daily reports

Pay and benefits

Pay: 14-16 per hour, based on experience and education.

A degree or coursework in Early Childhood Education and prior experience in a licensed childcare center are a plus, but not required. We hire characters and train for skill.
