Job summary

Child Development Schools in Clayton, NC is seeking a Bus Driver to provide safe, reliable transportation for our students to and from school and activities. You will support classrooms alongside the Lead Teacher, helping young learners through hands-on experiences, storytelling, and daily moments that foster curiosity, confidence, kindness, and growth.

You will observe development, communicate with families, and help with attendance and daily reports while maintaining a warm, welcoming

Qualifications

• Valid driver’s license with clean driving record.
• Ability to work with young children in a classroom setting.
• Ability to follow safety policies and licensing requirements.

Responsibilities

• Provide safe, reliable transportation for students to and from school and activities.
• Support classroom activities alongside the Lead Teacher.
• Engage with children during activities, meals, transitions, and outdoor time.
• Observe children and share developmental notes with the Lead Teacher.
• Build positive relationships with families through daily communication.
• Assist with attendance and daily classroom documentation.
• Maintain a safe bus environment.

Your role

As a Bus Driver at Child Development Schools, you will support our center by providing safe, reliable transportation for our students to and from school and/or activities. You may also be supporting classrooms, working alongside your Lead Teacher, you will support young learners through meaningful experiences that encourage curiosity, confidence, kindness, and growth. From hands-on activities and storytelling to everyday learning moments, you will help shape a warm and welcoming environment where children feel safe, supported, and excited to explore the world around them.

You will serve as a trusted partner to families, a positive role model for children, and an important part of our collaborative teaching team dedicated to making early childhood education engaging, nurturing, safe, and fun.

What your day looks like:

• Help maintain a safe, clean, and organized classroom that meets licensing and ratio requirements
• Provide on time, safe and reliable transportation for our Before and After School programs
• Engage directly with children during activities, meals, transitions, and outdoor time
• Observe children and share developmental notes with the Lead Teacher
• Build relationships with families through warm, consistent daily communication
• Assist with classroom documentation including attendance and daily reports
• Maintain a safe Bus environment

Pay and benefits

Pay: 14-16 per hour, based on experience and education.
