YMCA of Metropolitan Chicago is seeking a Childcare Attendant at the Foglia YMCA. You will be responsible for implementing daily programs, supervising activities, and ensuring a safe play environment for children. Ideal candidates have prior experience working with children and a strong commitment to the mission and vision of the YMCA. This position offers flexible scheduling and competitive pay of $16.60 per hour.

Childcare Attendant Opportunity at Foglia YMCA!

Looking for help: Weekdays 8:30 a-12 pm, 4:30-7:30 pm, and/or Saturdays 8 am-12 pm.

Pay is $16.60 per hour, flexible scheduling, opportunities to grow within the organization.

Scope of Responsibilities

• Implement the daily program, including developmentally appropriate activities, in collaboration with peers to support supervision.
• Supervise and lead activity areas.
• Assist in planning and preparing activities.
• Organize and set up materials and supplies.
• Sanitize toys and play equipment.
• Maintain a safe play environment.
• Support the YMCA’s mission and center operations as needed.
• Ensure proper ratios are maintained.

Minimum Requirements

• Prior experience working with children.

• Ability to build rapport with children, parents, and families of diverse backgrounds.
• Commitment to, and passion for, the YMCA of Metro Chicago’s mission.
• Evidence of YMCA team competencies in previous experience or practice.

Child Abuse Prevention

• Report any items that may pose a health or safety hazard to staff, members or guests to supervisor.
• Follow all policies and procedures related to child safety, monitoring, and supervision.
• Report suspicious behavior or policy violations to supervisor.
• Complete all child abuse prevention training as required.
