Job summary

Priority Dispatch Corp. seeks a childcare attendant to monitor and engage children aged 6 weeks to 12 years, ensuring a safe, fun environment. You will greet families, supervise activities, and coordinate sign-in/out while maintaining a nurturing setting.

Applicants should be at least 16, with strong communication skills and the ability to work flexible hours, including weekends. Bilingual English/Spanish is highly preferred to support the community.

Qualifications

• At least 16 years of age.

• CPR and First Aid certifications preferred.

Responsibilities

Job Summary and Key Accountabilities:Childcare Attendants are responsible for the wellbeing of children ages 6 weeks to 12 years within their care and maintaining a safe and fun environment. You will actively interact and engage with parents, monitor children throughout their care and supervision, and adhere to the standards and values of the YMCAScope of ResponsibilitiesPlan and implement daily drop-in childcare programs (babysitting) and enrichment activities Maintain awareness and supervision of the needs of the room and ensure the health and physical safety of children at all times Greet community members and guests and make them feel welcome and engaged Manage sign-in and sign-out procedures Foster a safe play environment Organize and set up materials and supplies Ensure proper ratios are maintained Provide a healthy environment by sanitizing toys and play equipment Support facility operations by partnering with local Community Hub leadership to ensure childcare spaces are clean at all timesMinimum and Preferred QualificationsAt least 16 years of ageAbility to work flexible hours, weekends, and/or holidays, as neededTop-notch verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills[Bilingual, English/Spanish highly preferred]Required Education:- High school diploma or equivalent is required.Required Experience:- Prior experience working with children in a childcare or educational setting.- Experience in planning and implementing age-appropriate activities for children.- Experience in maintaining a safe and nurturing environment for children.Required Skills and Abilities:- Strong communication skills to effectively interact with children, parents, and staff.- Ability to engage and motivate children through creative and educational activities.- Knowledge of child development and age-appropriate practices.- Ability to maintain a positive and patient demeanor in a dynamic environment.- Strong organizational skills to manage multiple tasks and responsibilities.- Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.- CPR and First Aid certification is preferred.
