Stepping Stones Children's Center in Gibsonia, PA is seeking an Assistant Group Supervisor for a full-time, Monday–Friday schedule from 10:00 am to 6:00 pm. You will support Teachers and Group Supervisors, help create a caring, safe environment, and assist with developmentally appropriate activities for children.

The role requires a High School Diploma, 2,500 hours of experience with children, and a willingness to pursue CDA/SAC or equivalent coursework.

S/he must be able to communicate, listen and work well with others in a teamenvironment and develop positive relationships with the children and their parents. Assistants areresponsible for implementing developmentally appropriate activities based on the children’s interestsand needs under the direction of the Teacher and/or the Group Supervisor.Primary Activities and Responsibilities:Assist in the implementation of curricula activities and encourage participation by the children.Actively engage in activities inside and outside.Manage cleanliness, and order of classroom and classroom materials.Communicate effectively with children to ensure safety, relationships, and guidance.Encourage self-help and good hygiene through behavior modeling.Follow all Stepping Stones policies as well as DHS regulations.Maintain personal professional development plan to ensure continuous quality improvement.Miscellaneous tasks as assigned by supervisor.Minimum Qualifications:High School DiplomaMinimum of 2 years (2,500 hours) of professional experience working/volunteering with children.Willingness to complete a CDA, SAC or credit equivalent course work.High energy.Ability to work well with others.An understanding of child development.Ability to interact with children on different levels including the floor, lift/carry children and supplies, and move around the center while supervising children.Pediatric CPR and First Aid certification or willingness to obtain.Must pass full background check, drug screening test and health screening.Knowledge and Skills:Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office Suite and/or other software programs.Ability to use basic office equipment.Excellent written and verbal communication skills.Ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities effectively.About Stepping Stones Children's CenterStepping Stones is a non-profit childcare center based north of Pittsburgh in Gibsonia, PA with multiple program offerings, including: (i) full-day childcare at our Main Center location in Gibsonia for infants through Pre-K, (ii) before and after-school care programs for elementary school students in two local school districts (care is provided on school property), (iii) extended day program for half-day kindergarten students in two local school districts, and (iv) full-day summer camp.
