Job summary

Armed Services YMCA Hampton Roads CYP in Virginia Beach seeks a SkillBridge Child & Youth Program Assistant. The intern will work under the CYP Director to provide a safe, engaging learning environment for children ages 3–12 and support program delivery across multiple sites.

The role requires 18+ years old, a high school diploma, and completion of at least 90 days of SkillBridge OJT. CPR/First Aid are needed, along with a valid driver's license and basic tech skills.

Qualifications

• Applicants must be at least 18 years old and have a high school diploma.
• Must complete at least 90 days of OJT through SkillBridge with the ASYMCA.
• Must pass background checks and comply with licensing requirements.
• CPR and First Aid training are required, with MAT training desired.

Responsibilities

• Assist the CYP Director in implementing high-quality child care for ages 3–12.
• Lead classroom activities and monitor student outcomes.
• Maintain records and ensure safety of students and equipment.
• Communicate effectively with students, families, and staff.
