• Advises staff on program and legal areas.
• Manages discovery and leads courtroom litigation for child welfare cases.
• Drafts and reviews legal correspondence and documents.
• Acts as liaison to the Attorney General on litigation and tort claims.
• Drafts legislation and administrative rules; conducts legal research and writing.
• Provides general legal support and may train Family Case Managers and others.
• Litigates CHINS and TPR cases in state courts representing the agency.
