Job summary

The State of Louisiana's DCFS seeks qualified individuals for Child Welfare Specialist Trainee/1/2/3 positions in parish placements throughout the state. Responsibilities include investigations of child abuse/neglect, supporting backlog cases, and documenting case information for court proceedings.

Applicants must meet minimum qualifications, including a bachelor's degree and relevant experience. SER salary bands are offered bi-weekly with state benefits and strict background checks.

Qualifications

• Three years of experience in child welfare.
• Six years of full-time work experience in any field.
• A bachelor's degree.

Responsibilities

• Conduct investigations into allegations of child abuse and/or neglect.
• Support first-shift staff by assisting with backlog cases.
• Gather and document detailed case information and records for court proceedings and provide testimony during court proceedings.
• Make timely and appropriate referrals to family services, foster care programs, and other community-based resources to address the needs of children and families
