Job summary

Georgia Department of Human Services seeks a Child Welfare Services Technician 1 in Columbus, GA. Under supervision, the role delivers a broad range of paraprofessional social services to clients and families, providing information and conducting intakes to support service delivery.

Qualifications

High school diploma/GED and one year of social services related experience.

Responsibilities

Assists clients in locating and utilizing community resources including legal, medical, financial assistance, and other referral services.
Completes patient/client/consumer intakes based on interviews with patient/clients/consumers, their families, significant others and appropriate community agencies.
Maintains contact with other social service agencies and healthcare providers involved with clients to provide information and obtain feedback on client’s overall progress.
Organizes the delivery of specific social services within the community.
Prepares intake reports and history records.
