Job summary

Durham County Government is seeking a Social Work Supervisor III (Permanency Planning) to lead a team of Child Welfare Social Workers within the Social Services department. You will coordinate case assignments and ensure high-quality services in alignment with state and federal requirements.

The role requires a Master’s in Social Work and related experience, with strong leadership and communication skills. NC driver’s license and willingness to oversee after-hours coverage are preferred.

Qualifications

• Masters in Social Work or related field with required experience.

Responsibilities

• Supervises a team of Child Welfare Social Workers.
• Coordinates after-hours Social Workers and back-up coverage 4:00pm–8:00am.
• Ensures frontline staff protect children and comply with laws.
• Provides input to management on administrative, personnel, and budget issues.
