Job summary

Lutheran Social Services of Illinois is seeking a supervisory leader to oversee staff delivering family and child services in Illinois. The role includes training, evaluation, and ensuring adherence to program and funding requirements.

Responsibilities include data submission, cross-team collaboration, and responsive communication with leadership and partner agencies. Requires master’s degree in social work or related field, IL licensing, CWEL, and 3–5 years in social services.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in social work or related field is required.
• Three to five years of progressive experience in social services.
• State licensing/certification as required by Illinois DCFS.
• CWEL License is required.
• Supervisory experience and child welfare exposure preferred.
• Must respond to client emergencies 24/7, attend court and related matters.
• Strong organizational, presentation, and computer skills (Microsoft Office).
• Background check clearance (criminal and CANTS) required.
• Valid driver’s license in good standing for residence state.
• Reliable transportation access is required.
• Valid IL minimum liability insurance coverage required.

• Ensure productivity requirements established by the Program Director are met.
• Supervise and support staff to provide services per service plan and agency policies.

• Communicate with Program Director and partners regarding children's/family status.
• Collaborate with management on programmatic, fiscal, and community issues.

Essential Functions:

• Provide individualized training and feedback to assigned staff to enhance their capabilities.


• Responsible for the review and evaluation of assigned staff.


• Ensure productivity requirements established by the Program Director or designee are met.


• Provide direct supervision and support to assigned staff to provide an array of services per service plan and policies of the agency, accreditation, and regulatory bodies.


• Compile, complete, and submit all required data, billings, reports, and documentation accurately and in a timely manner as required by agency and funding sources.


• Communicates with the Program Director, work group and collateral agencies regardingchildren’s and/or family status.


• Collaborate with other management staff in programs and network on programmatic, fiscal, organization and community issues.

Position Qualifications:

• Master’s degree in social work or other related human services field required.


• Three (3) to five (5) years of progressive experience in social services required.


• State licensing/certification as required by the State of Illinois Department of Children and Family Services required.


• Valid and active CWEL License required.


• Supervisory experience and experience with Child Welfare preferred.


• Ability to respond to client emergencies on a 24-hour basis, attend court, ACRs, staffing, and other related matters.


• Excellent organizational, presentation, and pc/computer skills, including proficiency with Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint) and other related software.


• Demonstrated ability to communicate in a clear, comprehensible manner, verbally and written.


• Background check clearance, both criminal and CANTS required.


• Valid driver’s license, in good standing for the state of residency required.


• Access to reliable transportation required.


• Valid IL statutory minimum liability insurance coverage, bodily injury and property damage required.
