Job summary

Oklahoma Human Services in Idabel, Oklahoma is seeking a Child Welfare Specialist at Level I, II, or III to investigate, protect, and support children and families within CPS, FCS, and Permanency Planning programs. Training is provided and extensive travel with state vehicles is expected.

Level I starts at $37,280.75, Level II at $40,077.79, Level III at $43,968.62 plus full benefits; a 5% salary incentive applies for Master's degree holders. On-call bonuses range $100–$150 biweekly.

Qualifications

• Master's degree is preferred for Level III.
• Bachelor's degree qualifies for Level II.
• Completion of 90 hours from an accredited college or university, or 3 years of experience in child welfare, or a combination of education and experience.

Responsibilities

• Investigates allegations of child abuse or neglect.
• Protects the safety of children and provides services to help families with barriers to safety.
• Preserves and strengthens protective capacities of parents to keep the child in the home.
• Provides services to families including involving family members in treatment plans.
• Provides placements for children meeting medical, educational, and physical needs.
• Returns children to their homes when safe, and arranges permanent plans if return is not possible.
• All New Employees will complete the Child Welfare Core Academy Training Program.
• Attend court hearings and provide testimony; consult with District Attorney and tribal partners; provide direct services to children in placement.
