Oregon Department of Human Services (ODHS) is seeking a Social Service Specialist 1 to protect the futures of children and support families in the Eugene/Springfield area. You will conduct welfare assessments, collaborate with families, and coordinate services to ensure safety and well-being.

As a CPS and Permanency Worker, you will develop case plans, participate in court hearings, and help families navigate resources while maintaining accurate records and reporting as required.

Formación

• Bachelor’s degree in Human Services or related field.
• Bachelor’s degree unrelated to Human Services plus one year of Human Services related experience or certification.
• Associate degree with related experience or credentials.

Responsabilidades

• Conduct child welfare assessments, interview children/parents, gather collateral information, review records and observe home environments.
• Assess child safety, determine abuse/neglect, document findings and take protective action.
• Develop service plans and coordinate medical evaluations, community resources, parenting programs and substitute care placements.
• Coordinate referrals for forensic, mental health, and behavioral assessments.
• Prepare court documentation and participate in court hearings and MDT meetings.
• Monitor safety and developmental progress of children in care and coordinate services to support permanency goals.
