Gaston County Government seeks a dedicated social worker to provide case management for children in DHHS custody and to pursue permanency goals through court hearings, family visits, and service coordination.

The role involves creating comprehensive life narratives, coordinating visits, and preparing reports. A strong background in child welfare and human services is required, with a valid driver’s license and readiness for emergency shelter duties.

Competenze

• Master's degree in Social Work (MSW) from an accredited institution.
• Master's degree in counseling or human services field and 1 year of directly related experience.
• Bachelor's degree in Social Work (BSW) from an accredited institution and completion of the Child Welfare Collaborative (Child Welfare positions only)
• Bachelor's degree in Social Work (BSW) from an accredited institution and 1 year of directly related experience.
• Bachelor's degree in a human services field and 2 years of directly related experience.

Mansioni

• Providing case management services for children in custody of the Department of Health & Human Services and pursuing permanence for them.
• Creating a case file that documents a child’s life while in foster care and away from family/caretakers.
• Transporting and accompanying child and caretakers to appointments and court.
• Participating in Permanency Planning Team Meetings and other team meetings.
• Participating in weekly unit staffing, trainings, and state mandated trainings.
• Preparing monthly reports capturing statistical data.
• Must be available to work mandatory emergency shelters and other duties as needed.
